Citroen offers a "striking" new C5
27/03/2008

Drivers with new car finance looking for the right family car may be interested to hear that Citroen has made a number of improvements to its C5.

According to a new review for Reuters Motoring, the car had previously been a little "bland", but notes that by drawing on inspiration from some of its German competitors, the French manufacturer has delivered a "striking" new take on the model.

Car credit customers, including those with an online car loan, can expect to pay between £15,600 and £24,000 for the new vehicle and the news agency reports that the C5 can now claim to hold its own against its pricier rivals.

"The C5 gets a firm thumbs up. It doesn't quite have the prestige of a BMW or the spaciousness of the Mondeo, but you can't grumble at that price tag," it states.

A range of engines are expected to be available including a 2.2-litre HDi model and a sportier 2.7-litre V6.

The original Citroen C5 was introduced in 2001 under the chairmanship of Jacques Calvet, during a period when many have criticised the manufacturer for losing their focus.
