Car loan customers need to go green to cut costs
28/05/2008
Car loan customers keen to avoid road taxes need to look at green cars that will also help them to cut the costs of ever increasing fuel charges.
The new "ultra-green" SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive is one of only two conventional-engined cars to be road tax free and, averaging at over 66 miles per gallon, the car is fuel efficient as well.
Mike Stephen, dealer principal at Bannerman SEAT in Harbour Road, Inverness, said: "The car will be most in demand in London where it will allow drivers to save a small fortune on the revised Congestion Charge, but people everywhere are concerned with their impact on the environment and rising fuel prices."
Mr Stephen made one of the first UK sales of the SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive to James Munro, a resident of North Uist, who has the misfortune to live in an area which has one of the highest fuel prices in the country.
Mr Munro said: "To get more than 66 miles to a gallon on the islands roads is quite an achievement, and the car doesn't feel any different to drive. In fact, its a lot quicker and more responsive than my old diesel."
