Demand peaks for Toyota amongst car loan customers
27/05/2008
It seems that car loan customers are keen to be green as a hybrid car has topped the used buyers' wish lists and sold out at a car supermarket.
According to car hypermarket, Carcraft, the Toyota Prius was so popular once it won the coveted JD Power satisfaction survey that the car chain had to replenish its stocks and put customers on a waiting list.
Paul Oakley, regional sales director from Carcraft says: With the current financial situation, car buyers are keen for any independent confirmation that their money will be well spent. The JD Power Survey always has an impact on sales of the best scoring model, but this years demand was unprecedented."
Mr Oakley also suggested that the recent changes to car tax rates for eco-friendly vehicles may well have helped the Prius' popularity.
The Prius earned 901 points out of 1,000 in the survey and also won the upper/medium cars category.
