Sporty Merc considered for car loans shoppers
28/04/2008
The latest sporty Mercedes could be a solid purchase for car loans customers who like their older models, one expert has suggested.
In a review for the Sunday Times, Andrew Frankel notes that some of the design features that relate to the German manufacturer's new CLC coupe come from older models such as the C-class saloon, but adds that this may not be a bad thing.
Mr Frankel notes that Mercedes has "exchanged or modified more than 1,100 components to create what is in effect a new car" and this has resulted in a car that is more or less a success.
With four petrol and two diesel models available, the review states the company has addressed concerns over environmental and economical issues and despite some reservations over engine noise it is noted the car is worthy of the Mercedes badge.
"The CLC does just about enough to introduce new customers to the world of Mercedes. It's not a great car but it does have the feel of an authentic Mercedes-Benz," he concludes.
Motors-Merseyside recently praised the model stating that it offered smarter design and a host of improved features in addition to better fuel consumption and lower emissions than its predecessors.
